La historia de Iron Maiden se remonta a 1975, cuando Steve Harris, bajista de apenas 19 años, tras haber pasado por un par de grupos, decide crear su propia banda. Para ello recluta entre la gente de su barrio de Londres a varios jóvenes músicos con ganas de tocar. Tras varias pruebas y ajustes, la primera formación de Iron Maiden estaba compuesta por el propio Steve Harris en el bajo, Dave Murray y Bob Sawyer en las guitarras, Doug Sampson en la batería y Paul Di'Anno como vocalista.
